The Daily Star. 20 November 2019: Up to November 19, 2019 almost one million Rohingya people have come to Bangladesh crossing the border since the start of the Rohingya crisis in Myanmar's Rakhine state. They took shelter at different points of Cox's Bazar district. Yesterday I visited the camps at Teknaf and Ukhiya. Kamal, a Rohingya refugee said, "Our miseries are beyond description. Most of us are living in the tents or under the open sky. Many organizations and individuals are distributing relief among us but these are not enough. We are not getting treatment due to the shortage of medical facilities. Another Rohingya refugee, Abdul said, "Crisis of pure drinking water is another problem in the camps and so we are being affected by different kinds of water-borne diseases. Sanitation facilities are not enough and now it turns to be a great problem for health and environment." Recently, many leaders of developed countries, ambassadors and heads of the international organizations have visited the border area to see the miseries of Rohingya people. Bangladesh and Myanmar authority are discussing to reach an agreement, regarding the refugees. Bangladesh foreign ministry has informed us that Myanmar has agreed to take back the Rohingyas in their last meeting.
