উত্তর: Increasing Prices of Essential Commodities Staff Reporter, The Daily newspaper, Rangpur; 29 December 2026 : More than ever the prices of essential commodities are going up by leaps and bounds (খুব দ্রুত) in Rangpur. All previous records of high prices have been broken especially as far as onion is concerned. Rice, fish, meat, chicken, kerosene oil, edible oil, onion and vegetables are being sold at exceedingly (অত্যন্ত) high prices. The price hike hits the poor people most. However, the prices of rice and vegetables have gone down recently owing [গণিত] season's new rice and vegetables. But one kilo of onion is now being sold at Tk. 200-250. Similarly, the prices of other commodities now bring sufferings [গণিত] the city dwellers. The hoarders are mainly responsible for this. Strict measures should be taken by the government [গণিত] curb the hoarders [গণিত] ill-motive which creates artificial (কৃত্রিম) crisis of essential commodities. Govt has already made open sale arrangement of rice [গণিত] check the price hike and as such, it is now under control. But the prices of sugar, washing soap, onion (পেঁয়াজ), garlic and other spices are beyond the purchasing capacity of common people. As a result, the consumers have [গণিত] undergo extreme sufferings due [গণিত] price hike.
