Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, a great scientist, teacher and President of India, was born in Rameswaram, in Tamil Nadu. After graduation, he worked at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and helped to launch India's first satellite. In 2002, he became the President of India. This great man died in 2015 while lecturing at the Indian Institute of Management at Shillong.
