The man who first travelled into space was Yuri Gagarin. He was a pilot and astronaut. He was a Russian citizen. He had a double graduation. First one was from a vocational school and then from a technical school. He first joined the Soviet Air Force. Then for his performance he was chosen for space programme. He entered into space on April 12, 1961. He experienced a premature death in a plane crash in 1968.
