Fortunate Rickshaw Puller Habib is a poor rickshaw puller in Dhaka. He drives his rickshaw to different areas of the city. One day he saw some men selling lottery tickets enticing (প্রলুব্ধ করা) the passersby. Habib felt tempted and bought a ticket. He knew the date of the draw. He was waiting eagerly for the day. Then the much awaited day came and he purchased a daily newspaper. As he received primary education in childhood, he could read and write a bit. He started to search the page in which the result of the lottery was published. He was trying to find out his ticket number with excitement. It was a great surprise for him when he found the number on the top of the list. Habib won the first prize of the lottery. He was so excited that he burst into tears with joy. But he was at a loss how he would get the money. Habib contacted with one of his neighbours who was a school teacher. The teacher assured him every help. He took Habib to the nearest police station and asked for their security. Then they communicated with the authority of the lottery. The authority checked the ticket and paid twenty five lack taka as the first prize. Habib came back home with police protection. The joys of Habib knew no bounds. Habib decided to do something for self-employment. He went back to his village and started a poultry farm. He also started a stationary shop alongside his poultry business. He deposited the rest of the money in a bank. The bad days of Habib were gone and he became solvent and self-emploved.
